Breast Implant Illness Tracker provides education and organizational tools only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Not medical advice
Nothing on Breast Implant Illness Tracker is medical advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified clinician. Using the Tracker does not create a doctor–patient relationship. Always talk to a qualified clinician about your health, and never disregard or delay professional advice because of something on the Tracker.
What the Tracker does and does not conclude
- It does not diagnose Breast Implant Illness or any condition.
- It does not tell you to stop or change any medication.
- It does not tell you whether to have explant surgery, and does not determine medical necessity.
- It does not recommend an individual surgeon, provider, or treatment.
- Timing relationships it shows (for example, a symptom before or after an implant date) do not establish that implants caused anything.
How to read the information types
The Tracker is careful to distinguish what kind of information you are looking at. It uses these labels:
- Reported symptoms — experiences that people report. Their presence is not proof of causation and not a diagnosis.
- User-reported clinician diagnoses — diagnoses a user says a clinician gave them. These are always the user’s reported diagnoses, never diagnoses made by the Tracker.
- Regulatory / FDA — information sourced from regulatory bodies such as the U.S. FDA.
- Peer-reviewed research — published, peer-reviewed scientific literature.
- Emerging evidence — preliminary or developing evidence that is not yet well established.
- Community-reported data — observational, community-reported experience that does not establish causation.
We do not present unverified sources as established medical fact. During the private beta we do not publish community statistics.
Emergencies
The Tracker is not for emergencies. If you have a medical emergency or urgent concern, contact your local emergency number or a clinician immediately.
